Huckleberry Cafe KL serves breakfast, lunch and tea in a lovely bright and airy country-style bakery at a corner lot in Plaza Damansara. Plaza Damansara is easily accessible via the many highways that pass near it. Huckleberry Cafe KL serves classic comfort food using the purest ingredients. And get this, they serve almost 20 varieties of hand-crafted, delicious-smelling, crusty gourmet breads. All these breads are hand shaped and baked every day. So if you are planning a breakfast party or event, you know you will absolutely be served with some of the freshest bread in KL. Knowing the pedigree of the founders of Huckleberry Cafe KL where food was concerned, they didn’t stop at just breads. 3. Mich’sology, Damansara Uptown

A local inspired fusion restaurant that serves food, desserts and coffee. An instagramable gathering hot spot for group of friends and family. Muse Eatery PJ, a new cafe restaurant in Happy Mansion Seksyen 17 that is famous for their crispy deep fried har jiong chicken wings, har cheong chicken chop, har jiong burger and more. Not to forget, very Instagrammable interior. With an inviting Scandinavian-style exterior that put together matching green leafy plants, laid-back pink & white Acapulco chairs, coffee tables in soft hues against catchy forest green backdrop, an Instagram-worthy interior that marks bold summer cafe vibes. 5. Pokok KL
Pokok is a beautiful cafe set in an urban glasshouse. Large glass windows and panels fill the exterior from floor to ceiling. Pokok KL has received much attentions from cafe hoppers and foodies alike, right from the first week. Thanks to its glass house architecture. Appears like an urban greenhouse, Pokok KL exudes a simplistic aesthetic that highlights on glass exterior – from floor to ceiling, all the way up to the rooftop. Fine black metal lines further strengthen the structure, completed with exposed bricks walls for a rustic finish within minimalism charm. This cafe emanates a happy harmony between rustic fashion and minimalistic character. In addition, the urban glasshouse allows plenty of natural light to shine in. It is such a warm and tranquil space to be.
This cafe is Pokok KL’s little sister, Daun. This branch-off from Pokok features mouth-watering cakes and it’s heaven for dessert-goers. This dessert spot features a simpler setup but in all of its minimalistic charm, it’s also a visual stunner. More good news! This place is also great for hosting gatherings and parties. Their crisp white-walled interior gives so much room for creativity so you can make full use of your creative visions for any kind of occasion!
6. Jibby & Co. @ Empire Subang
Located outside of Empire Shopping Gallery in Subang Jaya, Jibby & Co’s glasshouse structure unequivocally attract the attention of passers-by. This venue hopes to succeed on more than superficial charm, with a menu that’s more ambitious than many might anticipate. This standalone two-storey cafe not only comes with impressive architectural on the exterior, but the interior also brimming with character which a lot of thought has obviously gone into it. Watch this two-storey space register strongly on the F&B Richter scale for suburban cafe-watchers. Benefited from the ceiling-to-floor glass panels, the whole space is sufficiently basked with sunlight. Wooden furniture and flooring, exposed metal pipelines, hanging lighting, metal staircase and a tall potted plant awkwardly placed in the middle of the dining area, all combined together making Jibby & Co as one of those cafe where taking pictures should be compulsory for all visitors.
7. Jaslyn Cakes, Mont Kiara
Jaslyn Cakes serves one of the best chocolate cakes in town, and just recently opened its second outlet at Mont Kiara. Its interior is a complete opposite from the main outlet in Bangsar which is now sporting a more clean-looking space, with white interior and metal elements. Come here in your most colourful OOTD to stand out in the crowd.
8. LI, Damansara Jaya
Hidden in plain sight adjacent to Damansara Atria is a quirky little local hangout, LI Restaurant. Started and run by three close friends, who all studied together. LI serves porky-LI-cious Malaysian fare, with a very cool twist. Clearly these three friends’ industry experience in Australia contributed to creating an exceptional café-bistro, where the hero is pork, recreating favourite Malaysian flavours, but with an upscaling of the classic kopitiam experience.
The way this place looked, especially the feel it exudes. Quiet, cosy, welcoming and a refreshing change from the hectic week for some people might had. It is a charming, quaint eatery that could easily be missed if you do not keep a look out for it. It is located in the building, row of shops that directly faces Atria, however, since it isn’t as popular as the other rows, one could easily drive by past it and not even know that it exist.
Give this place a try, and we highly recommend you to check out their sister cafe, Provisions Cafe, now opened, right next to LI Damansara Jaya. It is a bakery, coffee shop and food store, inspired by Cali bakeries and Melbourne markets. Run by the cheerful team behind LI Damansara, Provisions features a small menu focusing on homemade sourdough, sandwiches and freshly baked goods of the day from counter.
9. Tapestry, Chow Kit
With a soaring skylight that floods this leafy space with sunshine, Tapestry is one of downtown KL’s most striking new cafes, simultaneously rustic and refined. True to its name, Tapestry’s menu also weaves together inspirations from past and present, a mesh of classic Malaysian breakfasts and contemporary Melbourne brunches. With exposed brick walls and floors, ground to ceiling windows, and giant, colourful tapestries hanging from the high ceilings, the space was an open-air carpark only a while ago. Rise and Shine opened its doors in June and is a tribute to the vibrant, resurgent and ever-evolving Chow Kit neighbourhood. Looking over the menu, the café’s philosophy shine through subtly intertwining breakfast and lunch dishes, flavours and spices from East and West.

Naj & Belle originally located at Bangsar and they just open their new branch at SS15 Courtyard, Subang Jaya. There is no doubt that SS15 is the spot where you would most probably find all the foodies at. Located on the ground floor of SS15 Courtyard, next to the main entrance of the mall, it is quite hard for you to miss it. If it is your first time trying out hipster cafés, then Naj & Belle should be the first! The ambiance of the place, with its bright lights made it inviting. There was also sunlight streaming in through the large unobstructed windows and we got to bask in its natural lighting too. We noticed how Naj & Belle is able to accommodate different group sizes. Whether you’re a group of 4-5 friends or a bigger group of above 10, the restaurant is able to accommodate you.
